Low backs, floral appliqués and unique sleeves have been bridal gown trends of the past, but will they be in 2020? We’ve done the research to answer these big questions for you and as always want to bring in to the salon the best of the best. See what we’ve deciphered below!
1.) Tiered Skirts
Take the gorgeous “River” gown by Made With Love! Her tiered tulle skirt gives a unique twist to a traditional straight skirt making her super fun, fashion-forward and unique.
2.) Unique Sleeves
Sleeves are not just for winter weddings only. Long sleeves, flutter sleeves, abstract sleeves – this trend has only just started! Some of our research even brought back that puffy sleeves are coming back…hmmm, not too sure about the puffy sleeves. The designs we have seen with puffy sleeves are abstract, high end couture and with the right vibe of wedding, we could see this being exceptional.
3.) Airy & Light
We hear from our brides all the time that wearing something comfortable is key. And comfort in the way that you feel like yourself, but we do hear that a lightness to your gown is important to you as well. A gown that feels light as a feather and has an airy feel is definitely one of 2020’s bridal gown trends and we 100% ok with that!
Since Meghan Markel’s stunning two wedding gowns made beautiful waves in the wedding world, silk crepe gowns have had their moment. And through our research we’ve found that this trend isn’t going anywhere. There really is something about a gown where less is more. What we love most about a minimalistic gown, is that the bride truly shines while making a crisp, clean statement. 🙂
5.) Shine & Sparkle
Sequins and beading have been popping up in previous collections from many designers we follow, but we’ve definitely seen an uptake in bridal gowns that shimmer and shine. We’re all about it and feel that if there’s a good time to wear sparkle it would certainly be your wedding day.
The comeback of the ballgown will be in full swing in 2020. Again, if there’s anytime you are going to wear a fuller skirt (mind you it fits with the vibe and vision of your wedding) your wedding would be the time. There’s also something really magical about a ballgown. 😉
7.) Appliqué Florals
Appliqué florals are not going anywhere. They will continue to flourish and bloom this year. Florals give your wedding look a whimsical, flirty and romantic feel and work in any wedding style silhouette. Scattered throughout the skirt, along the bust or even head to toe, these florals give you a whole new take on lace.
8.) High Necks
More coverage in recent years has been making waves. Giving such an elegant touch to a wedding gown. We love how sophisticated a high neck makes the gown and find this bridal gown trend of 2020 to be one of our favorites!
