Wedding planning is a job in and of itself. Probably why having a wedding planner is usually an amazing asset to your life during this time in your life. There are so many activities, options and expectations to manage, you may find yourself with what we call “decision fatigue.”
So how can you de-stress after all the decisions or even find ways to help you relax while thinking about which decision to make? Here are a few of our favorite options and can help you long after your “I dos.”
5 Ways to De-Stress During Wedding Planning
1.) Schedule Yourself A Spa Day
Why not? You deserve it! And if your honey is stressed as well, get a couple’s massage. It will not only help you to relax, but your partner as well.
We hear more and more about how important self-care is and it’s true. We must take care of ourselves mentally and physically, and getting a massage does both.
2.) Take A Small Trip Out Of Town
Sometimes leaving town for just a couple of days can reenergize and give us a refresh to go back and conquer what needs to be conquered. A new place for a short weekend trip gets you out of the monotony of the day to day and brings back creativity, relaxation and some good ol’ fun.
Book a cute and inspirational Airbnb. Drive out into nature and go on a hike. Find a great deal on a quick flight that takes you somewhere new.
3.) Make A Plan To Plan Nothing
Give yourself a good break. If you can’t make it out of town, schedule to do nothing. Allow yourself time to not make any wedding decisions or perhaps even talk about the wedding for a day. It’s amazing how even one day can give you a refresh.
4.) Go Ahead & Plan Ahead
Though we can’t foresee everything that will come in the future, planning ahead and making decisions before the traditional wedding timeline says to, will allow for peace of mind that the decision has already been made. You won’t have to worry about a certain thing, because you already have it done. Procrastination is said to increase stress more than anything and in this case, we think it’s a great idea to get ahead when you can.
5.) Breathe To De-Stress
You’ve probably heard this before – the easiest meditation tool to use is the 5,7,8 Breathing Technique. Breathe in for 5 seconds. Hold for 7 seconds. Breathe out for 8 seconds. Do it a few times in a row while focusing solely on your breath and counting. It will center you and allow your heart rate to slow, giving you relaxation that can only be beneficial.
